Youth Festival for children of women in prostitution in Kolkata

Kolkata (India), Mar 11 (EFE/EPA) - (Camera: Piyal Adhikary) The Amra Padatik collective has set up a module for free blood tests for HIV/AIDS during the youth festival titled "Our Rights, Our Demands" in the Sonagachi red light area of Kolkata in eastern India.

Amra Padatik is an organisation by and for the children of women in prostitution, whose main objective is to integrate the children of sex workers and improve their lives and livelihoods, fight for their rights and combat all kinds of violence.

The festival is held over three days and opens on 11 March 2024.
