Youth employment fails to recover from the pandemic

New York (US), Aug 11 (EFE), (Camera: Sarah Yenesel).- The covid-19 pandemic has harmed young people more than any other age group in terms of employment and has caused that the proportion of the age group between 15 and 24 years who neither work nor study has been the highest in the last fifteen years.

According to the latest data, young people who are unemployed or who do not follow any educational or training program in 2020 represented 23.3% of the total, 1.5% more than the previous year, according to the International Labour Organization.

A report with the latest data on the situation of youth employment in the world presented by the ILO maintains that young people run the risk that their opportunities and achievements in the labor market will continue to diminish in the future unless concrete policies are applied to prevent it.
