One year of Noboa at the helm of Ecuador: war on 'narco', assault on Mexico and a sidelined vicepresident

Quito, Nov 22 (EFE).- The president of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, celebrates this Saturday his first year in office, a period marked by multiple crises: the violence of organized crime, against which he declared the “internal armed conflict”; the economic crisis, for which he adopted unpopular measures; the external crisis, opened with Mexico after assaulting its embassy; the internal crisis, facing his vice president Veronica Abad; and the energy crisis, with blackouts of up to fourteen hours a day.
