The explosion occurred around 9:15 a.m. when the worker at the Pirotecnia Pablo company, one of the most important pyrotechnics companies in Asturias and founded in 1895, was preparing a gunpowder preparation. The worker, a resident of Cangas del Narcea, was inside one of the company's booths, which has been destroyed by the explosion.
