Being a woman in Darien: rape, robbery and with children in tow

Bajo Chiquito (Panama), May 3 (EFE).- Migration has long ceased to be a man's thing. Women alone, with children or with their partners leave behind their homes having to go through a “hell” as the Darien jungle, where they are victims of rape or robbery while carrying their children and consoling them: “come on, it won't be long now”.
