FRANCE ATTACK

Witnesses react to the attack that has left three children and an adult seriously injured

Annecy (France), June 8 (EFE).- Four young children and one adult are in critical condition, with another adult less seriously injured, in a stabbing attack on a children's playground that has left France in shock.

The children are between 22 months and three years old, and among them there is a British woman, a Dutchman, as well as two brothers, according to the authorities, who have ruled out the terrorist motive in this attack in the alpine tourist city of Annecy (southeastern France).

Statements by Mathieu Desbres: "Attacking people with a knife is petty, let's say. He stopped children under the age of three... I think the victims were between three and six years old, it's unfortunate. Annecy has always been a city where feel safe. It shows that things can happen anywhere and that we are not safe from anything."

Statements by Charlotte Estrada: "Whenever I've come to Annecy I've come with the idea that it was a very safe and pleasant city. That's why it surprised me so much. Especially for the three-year-olds, I don't find any sense in it. I don't understand it. It has impacted me a lot."
