Well-known former politician shot dead in northern India | Video

Prayagraj, Apr 16 (EFE/EPA).- A well-known former politician, accused of murder and previously facing justice in cases related to mafia activities, and his brother were shot dead on camera as they were being escorted by police to a medical centre in northern India.

Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf, both arrested in an alleged murder case, were being escorted by police to a health centre in Prayagraj, in Uttar Pradesh state, when a group of assailants started firing at them at point-blank range.

The former Indian politician and mafia don was interacting with the press at the time of the incident, which was caught on camera and instantly went viral on social media. (Camera: PRABHAT KUMAR VERMA).
