Washington is confident that employment data will give the Fed room for maneuver

Washington, Aug 5 (EFE).- The US government is hopeful that the strength of the labor market, which added more than half a million jobs in July, will give the Federal Reserve (Fed) enough room for maneuver to combat inflation without causing a recession in the economy.

"(The Fed) will look at this (employment) data, and while it may make their job a little harder, on the other hand it will give them enough wiggle room to bring down inflation without causing undue damage," he said on Friday. In an interview with Efe, the White House economic adviser, Cecilia Rouse.
