COLOMBIA BOOK FAIR

La vorágine' is still alive among thousands of books and its denunciations remain in force

Bogota, Apr 28 (EFE) - Among the thousands of documents at the International Book Fair of Bogota (FilBo) there is a novel, 'La vorágine', which one hundred years after its publication is still more alive than ever with publications and an exhibition that vindicates the current relevance of the work of José Eustasio Rivera (1888-1928).

This work narrates through the misadventures of a couple of lovers, Arturo Cova and Alicia, the cruelty suffered in the Amazon by indigenous people and settlers during the rubber fever of the early twentieth century.
