Von der Leyen continues her round of contacts to seek support from a majority of MEPs

Brussels (Belgium), Jul 2 (EFE) - The president of the European Commission (EC) and candidate to repeat in office, Ursula von der Leyen, on Tuesday continued her contact with the groups of the European Parliament in search of the support of a majority of MEPs that will allow her to be revalidated in this position for five more years.

The German went on Monday to a meeting with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, and the leaders of the political groups in view of the first plenary session of the legislature, which will begin in Strasbourg (France) on July 16 and in which the vote will be held to confirm Von der Leyen as president of the Community Executive.
