Virginia removes the statue of Confederate General Lee

Richmond, Sep 8 (EFE / EPA).- The controversial statue of General Robert E. Lee was removed Wednesday from Richmond (Virginia), the former capital of the Confederacy, amid the debate over the presence of symbols of the slave-owning past in public spaces in the US.
