Vigil in San Francisco marks 33rd anniversary of Tiananmen crackdown

San Francisco, Jun 3 (EFE/EPA).- Hundreds of people on Friday held a candlelight vigil in San Francisco to mark the 33rd anniversary of Tiananmen Square massacre.

The Tiananmen demonstrations started as a student-led movement demanding democratic reforms following the death of reformist and former General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Hu Yaobang on Apr. 15 in 1989. (Camera: JOHN MABANGLO).
