Vienna State Opera opens new season with grand spectacle | Video

Vienna, Sep 3 (EFE).- With more than 50 opera and ballet performances from the world repertoire, along with seven eagerly awaited premieres - including an enchanting children's opera - the Vienna State Opera kicked off its new season on Sunday with a truly extraordinary event: a special reunion with the celebrated soprano Cecilia Bartoli.

Among the operatic offerings gracing the stage this year, Giacomo Puccini's masterpieces "Il trittico" and "Turandot" shine brightly alongside György Ligeti's avant-garde "Le Grand Macabre", Alexander Mikhailovich Raskatov's evocative "Animal Farm" and the enchanting children's opera "The Cursed Ghost Ship", embellished with the musical genius of Richard Wagner.
