Vatican condemns gender theory, sex change, surrogacy

Vatican City, Apr 8 (EFE) - (Camera: Daniel Cáceres) The Vatican published Monday a document in which it condemns as serious violations of human dignity, in addition to the already known euthanasia or abortion, gender theory, sex change and surrogate motherhood, but is also in favor of depenalizing homosexuality.

FOOTAGE AND SOUNDBITES OF THE PRESS CONFERENCE TO UNVEIL THE TEXT OF THE DICASTERY FOR THE DOCTRINE OF THE FAITH, ENTITLED 'DIGNITAS INFINITA', IN VATICAN CITY.

TRANSLATIONS:

- Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernandez, Prefect of the Vatican's Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith.

1.- The Pope wanted to broaden the understanding of blessings to develop its pastoral richness.

2.- The truth does not change, it does not grow, but our understanding does. The Church's understanding also develops, grows, and deepens.

3.- The Church has also learned the hard way, going through difficult phases, and it has also learned by talking to the world. By listening to society. Listening to what the thought and culture of the world says.

4.- It is true that there are at least two reasons for not accepting gender ideologies. Two reasons that we develop here. Because we believe that these ideologies, instead of helping the recognition of dignity, impoverish a humanist vision where man and woman make the most beautiful encounter. in the greatest difference that humanity contains. This is unequal. In this context, the idea of homosexual marriage or the very elimination of differences? It does not seem acceptable.

5.- In the issue of sex change there is a deeper question that is not seen on the surface, but that has to do with this situation and this tendency of the human being today. On the pastoral consequences. The principle of welcoming everyone is clear in the words of Pope Francis, isn't it? He always says it: everyone, everyone... even if they think differently. Also, for example, in Cristus Vivit, isn't it? The kids who don't agree with everything the church teaches, right? Who make different decisions from what the church says in its doctrine. They too must be accepted.

6.- The option that Pope Francis proposes to us is to welcome everyone, even if they think differently, on these issues of sexuality, marriage, etc...

7.- The question that Pope Francis asks himself, and with all the limits that our freedom has, is it not that hell is empty?

8.- Very few words are said about sex change. Certainly, when it comes to children, gravity becomes special because they are human persons with infinite dignity, but in their freedom, they have a development. No? It is a freedom that still needs to be enlightened to make a choice. And it is a choice that changes their whole life? No? So, for us, this would require a special development, but we can say without a doubt that when it comes to children the question has a much greater gravity, no? And about the right to abortion, we simply think that when a child is being created in its mother's womb, this child can be a woman in development, right? For us, development does not change anything. Because it is also a circumstance, isn't it? Whether she is less or more developed, isn't it? So for us, there are two women and there is the right of one against the right of the other, in these cases for us the original right, which is the right to life, is the main one.

9. Regarding surrogacy, here we are talking about the child becoming the object of a desire, right? And this does not mean not understanding the sensibility of the person who desires a child that is truly his own. But there is an invitation to transcend that desire, isn't there? Because we are talking about the dignity of the person, which is something much greater than the desire that one may have, no. We have so many unfulfilled desires, no? So many unfulfilled desires. And here there is always the possibility of adoption for so many who need to have a family that not only receives them but receives them with love and with that desire, no? Raising a life doesn't matter so much if it's mine, biologically or not. So let's understand this sensitivity and let's not judge it, but let's invite desires in another line, right?
