Urban poverty in Argentina dropped to 36.5% in the first half of 2022 | Video

Buenos Aires, Sep 28 (EFE), (Camera: Julieta Barrera and Alberto Caratozzolo).- Poverty in Argentina's urban population stood at 36.5% during the first half of the year, 0.8 percentage points below the rate recorded in the second half of 2021, official sources reported Wednesday.

As indicated by the National Institute of Statistics and Census (Indec) in a report, the indigence index stood at 8.8 % of people in the first half of the year, 0.6 points above the rate recorded in the second half of 2021.

In the inter-annual comparison, the poverty index decreased in the first half of the year by 4.1 percentage points and the indigence index by 1.9 points.
