Ultra-Orthodox Jews protest against their conscription into Israeli Army

Bnei Brak, Jun 27 (EFE/EPA) - A group of ultra-Orthodox Jews on Thursday blocked Highway 4 in Bnei Brak in protest against their conscription into the army following a ruling by the Israeli Supreme Court.

The Court ruled unanimously on Tuesday to end the military exemption for ultra-Orthodox, a measure that polarizes Israeli society especially since the war in the Gaza Strip, and that puts the government of Benjamin Netanyahu on the ropes, at the risk of the Haredi parties leaving the coalition.
