Slavutych, Ukraine, Apr 26 (EFE/EPA).- Ukrainians lit candles and laid flowers at a memorial for the "liquidators" who died during the cleanup efforts following the Chornobyl nuclear disaster. The ceremony took place early Sunday in the city of Slavutych, located approximately 190 km north of Kyiv. Slavutych was established in the wake of the 1986 catastrophe to resettle evacuated power plant workers and residents of Pripyat after the Unit 4 reactor exploded in the early hours of Apr. 26, 1986.
