Typhoon Gaemi weakens, heads to China after killing 2 in Taiwan

Taipei, Jul 25 (EFE/EPA).- Typhoon Gaemi weakened Thursday after passing through Taiwan, where it left two dead and more than 260 injured, felling trees and disrupting transport, and was headed to southeastern China, whose authorities have been on high alert.

The storm made landfall in the eastern county of Yilan as a super typhoon at midnight Wednesday and headed toward the north of the island, gradually reducing the intensity of its winds, which went from maximum gusts of 234kmph at maximum gusts of 190kmph. (Camera: DANIEL CENG).
