Transporters in Ecuador denounce increase in kidnappings and ask for more security from the government

Quito, Mar 15 (EFE).- After spending more than two months under a state of emergency and "internal armed conflict" declared in Ecuador against organized crime, the heavy cargo transport union denounced a new increase in kidnappings of its members on the country's highways and asked the government for greater security to avoid being forced into an eventual strike of the sector.
