Traditional, indigenous midwives demand changes to Health Law in southeastern Mexico

Tuxtla Gutiérrez, May 8 (EFE).- Institutional violence and discrimination against traditional and indigenous midwives still persist from healthcare professionals, denounced the "Nich Ixim" (cornflower) Midwives Movement of the state of Chiapas on Tuesday, on the occasion of the International Day of the Midwife, in the city of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, in the state of Chiapas, southeastern Mexico.
