ECUADOR PEACE

Tierras Coloradas, or how to inculcate peace from childhood in Ecuador

Loja (Ecuador), May 2 (EFE) (Camera: Juan Francisco Chavez) - In Tierras Coloradas, a neighborhood of Loja (Ecuador), where conflict is the order of the day, university students from a Unesco chair have been slowly forging a culture of peace for three years, focused on strengthening the foundations of the social fabric of this community: the children.

Sitting around the kitchen table, in front of a tablet leaning against an uncovered wall, Carla and José (not their real names) listen to the instructions given on the other side of the screen by a law student. The volunteer acts as a teacher, asking the children about their homework and explaining it to them in simple terms.
