SPAIN MARCH 3

Thousands of people remember the workers murdered in Vitoria, with some incidents

Vitoria, Mar 3 (EFE) - Thousands of people have demonstrated through the streets of Vitoria in memory of the five workers who were shot dead by the police on March 3, 1976, in a tribute that has been marred by incidents during the march, with two people arrested.

This Sunday marked the 48th anniversary of March 3, 1976, when thousands of workers who had been on strike for months held an assembly in the church of San Francisco, which the police broke up with gunfire, resulting in the death of five of them: Pedro Martínez, Francisco Aznar, Romualdo Barroso, José Castillo, and Bienvenido Pereda.
