Thousands of Indonesians return home following Eid al-Fitr celebrations

Banda Aceh, Apr 26 (EFE/EPA).- On Wednesday, thousands of Indonesians returned home after the Eid al-Fitr holidays, marking the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

The massive exodus, locally known as "mudik," is a time-honoured tradition that sees millions of Indonesians travelling to their hometowns to celebrate Eid al-Fitr with their families. (Camera: HOTLI SIMANJUNTAK).
