THAILAND CORONAVIRUS

Thailand steps up booster vaccinations as Omicron subvariant cases rise

Bangkok, Apr 28 (EFE/EPA).- Thai citizens received booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at a vaccination centre in Bangkok on Friday, as the Ministry of Public Health reviews its vaccination plan in response to the rising number of coronavirus infections. The recent increase in cases is attributed to the spread of the new subvariant Omicron XBB.1.16, also known as Arcturus.

In view of the evolving situation, the Thai Ministry of Public Health is now recommending that the population receive an annual booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine to boost immunity and curb the spread of the virus. (Camera: RUNGROJ YONGRIT).
