Thailand faces new COVID-19 threat as over 1,700 hospitalised last week

Bangkok, May 8 (EFE/EPA).- Thai authorities have issued a public health alert due to a recent spike in COVID-19 infections in Bangkok.

Between April 28 and May 4, more than 1,700 people were hospitalised because of the virus, and 12 deaths were reported in one week.

In response to the increase in the number of cases, Thai citizens have been urged to strictly follow safety protocols, including wearing masks in public spaces. (Camera: NARONG SANGNAK).
