Thai tourism shows signs of recovery with influx of Chinese visitors

Bangkok, May 30 (EFE/EPA).- In a significant sign of recovery in its tourism industry, Thailand has welcomed one million Chinese tourists since January 2023.

Acting government spokesman Anucha Burapachaisri announced the promising statistics and said Thailand is on track to reach its target of five million Chinese visitors this year.

Chinese tourists, a key component of Thailand's tourism economy, play a key role in the country's recovery efforts following the global travel slowdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

This recent rebound in Chinese tourist arrivals not only demonstrates the resilience of the Thai tourism sector but also highlights the growing confidence of international tourists to visit the country. (Camera: RUNGROJ YONGRIT).
