TeamLab opens new art exhibition in Japan highlighting connection with nature | Video

Izura, Japan, Oct 8 (EFE).- TeamLab has opened a new night-time exhibition in the coastal area of Izura, Ibaraki Prefecture, north of Tokyo, with eleven works of art hidden among rice terraces and a lush forest.

This immersive digital art exhibition highlights the deep connection between nature and the creative vision of the renowned Japanese collective.

The exhibition, entitled teamLab: Hidden Traces of Rice Terraces, invites visitors to interact with the artworks, leaving their ‘footprint’ in the environment. (Camera: PEDRO YANES).

TRANSLATION:

-When I learned that it was a rice field using spring water, I wanted to turn it into a work of art. I wanted to turn the forest itself into a work of art.

-From a visual point of view, the differences in altitude. There are differences in altitude along the terrain. There is a difference in elevation similar to a staircase. Also, the spring-fed terraces are very old terraces and this has always interested me.

-I firmly believe that nature, forests with long periods of time do not exist independently, but are based on continuity. I want to create something that is always continuous, that recognises not only individual things, but continuity itself.
