Taiwan arrests former Chinese Navy captain who entered harbor by speedboat

Taipei, Jun 11 (EFE).- Taiwan has arrested a former member of the Chinese Navy who drove a speedboat into a Taipei harbor, possibly with the intention of testing the island's defenses, official sources reported Tuesday.

The event occurred on Sunday morning, when Taiwan’s Coast Guard Administration (CGA) detected the incursion of a "suspicious boat" six nautical miles (11 kilometers) off the coast of New Taipei’s Tamsui district, north of the capital, according to a statement released by the organization.
