Taiwan approves aid for 882 million dollars after 7.2 magnitude earthquake

Hualien (Taiwan), May 3 (EFE/EPA).- The Government of Taiwan approved an aid package valued at around 28.55 billion Taiwan dollars (882 million dollars, 822 million euros) in response to the damage caused by the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that shook the east of the island last April 3.

In a press conference, cabinet spokesman Lin Tze-luen indicated that this recovery and reconstruction plan will be aimed at repairing public buildings, providing subsidies and revitalizing industry in the eastern county of Hualien, the epicenter of the strong earthquake, the state agency reported.
