Students at the American University of Beirut protest in support of Gaza

Beirut (Lebanon), May 7 (EFE/EPA) - Students at the American University of Beirut on Tuesday joined the worldwide wave of student protests calling for a cease-fire in Gaza and an end to Israel's military offensive in the Palestinian enclave.

More than 34,600 Palestinians and at least 1,455 Israelis have been killed, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), since Hamas militants launched an attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip last October 7, 2023, and the Israeli operations in Gaza and the West Bank that followed.
