Strasbourg Court ruling: climate inaction goes against human rights

Strasbourg (France), Apr 9 (EFE/EPA) - (Camera: Ronald Wittek) The Strasbourg Court on Tuesday issued a landmark ruling in favor of one of three lawsuits filed over insufficient state action to limit climate change, finding that Switzerland had violated the human rights of a group of elderly women.

However, the judges struck down the high-profile lawsuit brought by six young Portuguese men against Portugal, but also against 31 other European countries they sought to condemn for insufficient policies to mitigate climate change.
