UK starts post-Brexit controls on imports of food and animal products

London (United Kingdom), Jan 30 (EFE) - (Camera: Guillermo Garrido) After several delays, the United Kingdom begins to apply from January 31 the new border controls on imports of food and animal products that were agreed in the Brexit agreement, which for some importers complicate and slow down their operations.

The complexity of untangling the UK's trade with the European Union (EU), after the country voted in June 2016 to leave the bloc, has forced the government to now implement the sanitary and phytosanitary controls that should have come into force months ago.
