Madrid, May 19 (EFE).- Former Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero has been placed under investigation for alleged involvement in a criminal organization, influence peddling, and document forgery as part of the probe into suspected illegal commission payments linked to the bailout of the airline Plus Ultra during the Covid-19 pandemic, legal sources told EFE.Zapatero, who served as prime minister from 2004 to 2011, has been summoned to testify on June 2 by Spain's top criminal court while his office and three other premises are being searched on Tuesday.
