Spanish archaeologist owns largest collection of ancient Roman city Itálica

Seville, Spain, Feb 9 (EFE) (Camera: Raúl Car).- The archaeologist José Manuel Rodríguez Hidalgo directed Itálica (Santiponce, Seville) when, in 1991, he found the first photograph of the Roman archaeological complex, taken by Charles Clifford in 1861.

The administration refused to buy it, so he kept it and began a collection of original pictures, which today includes 1,600 pieces.
