Madrid, Feb 17 (EFE).- (Camera: Archive) Spain’s opposition People’s Party (PP), which has been in power in the northwestern region of Galicia for the past 15 years, will face a tough challenge to secure another mandate in Sunday’s regional election. The conservative party, led by former Galician president and current PP president Alberto Núñez Feijóo, is predicted to win a narrow victory over the left-wing Galician Nationalist Bloc (BNG), which is in second, and the third-placed Socialist Workers Party (PSOE).The election is being seen as a gauge of the country’s approval of the amnesty law for Catalan separatists passed by the PSOE government, as well as of Feijóo and his legacy in the region after three spells in office.ARCHIVE FOOTAGE.
