Shanghai turns off lights of its iconic buildings to save energy

Shanghai (China), Aug 22 (EFE/EPA).- (Camera: Alex Plavevski) Shanghai's iconic landscapes, the Bund and Lujiazui, will not be lit for two nights to save power, Shanghai officials announced on 21 August. According to the city's power consumption plan this year, the landscape lights will be switched off when the power supply hits about 6 million kilowatt-hours within 24 and 72 hours.
