Scholz and Macron ask Russia for a ceasefire

Berlin (Germany), May 9 (EFE), (Camera: Clemens Bilan).- The German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, and the French President, Emmanuel Macron, called on Monday in Berlin for a ceasefire in order to promote negotiations for a peace that, as they agreed, will have to be based on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

"We have already had several weeks of war. We have to find ways to end this war. But for this, a ceasefire is required first, and it is clear that a future peace must have as a condition respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity from Ukraine," Scholz said.
