EL SALVADOR MASSACRE

El Salvador commemorates 35th Anniversary of Jesuit Murders

San Salvador, Nov 16 (EFE).- Hundreds of parishioners, religious figures, and university students gathered on Saturday night to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the massacre of six Jesuit priests and two women in 1989, during El Salvador's civil war (1980-1992).

The event took place as the country held a preliminary hearing against those accused of the intellectual authorship of this crime against humanity.

The massacre, which took place at the University of Central America (UCA), remains one of the most tragic and significant events of the Salvadoran civil conflict, and the commemoration highlights the ongoing pursuit of justice for the victims. (Camera: EVER FLORES).
