Russia marks 81th anniversary of WWII German invasion

Moscow, Jun 22 (EFE/EPA).- Russians lit candlesTuesday in Moscow to mark the 81th anniversary of Operation Barbossa, the German invasion of the Soviet Union.

The invasion of the Soviet Union by Nazi Germany during WWII, known as the Great Patriotic War in Russia, began on Jun. 22, 1941. (Camera: SERGEI ILNITSKY).
