BRAZIL MISSING

Rio de Janeiro bids farewell to the British journalist murdered in the Amazon.

Niteroi (Brazil), Jun 26 (EFE) - Rio de Janeiro said goodbye this Sunday to the British journalist Dom Phillips, murdered in the Brazilian Amazon along with the indigenist Bruno Araújo Pereira, who was cremated amid protests over his death and the clamor for justice raised by family, friends, colleagues and activists.

The body of Phillips, who was a contributor to the British newspaper The Guardian and was a correspondent for the U.S. Washington Post and The New York Times and the English Financial Times, was veiled and cremated in Niteroi, in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro, where he spent most of his fifteen years in Brazil.
