Rights groups camp out in Buenos Aires to request pardon for activist Milagro Sala

Buenos Aires, Dec 21 (EFE).- Social, political and union organizations camped out in Buenos Aires Wednesday to request a pardon for the activist Milagro Sala, who has been detained for 2,531 days.

Considered by some sectors as a "political prisoner", Sala was sentenced to 13 years in prison for the crimes of illicit association, fraud against the public administration and extortion, according to a judicial ruling that was ratified by the Supreme Court of Justice of Argentina the week before.
