Resurrection drumming puts an end to Holy Week in Madrid

Madrid, Mar 31 (EFE), (Camera: Manuel Única).- The Resurrection drum parade in Madrid's Plaza Mayor, in which the mayor, José Luis Martínez Almeida, participated, has put an end to the celebration of Holy Week 2024.

Despite the rain and cold, several hundred people have heard this drumming, along with Almeida, the mayor of Zaragoza, Natalia Chueca; the Madrid delegate for Culture, Tourism and Sports, Marta Rivera de la Cruz, or the VOX spokesperson in the Madrid City Council, Javier Ortega-Smith.

Established 28 years ago as an event during Holy Week in Madrid, the tumbarrada is organized by the Congregation of Our Lady of Solitude and Helplessness, in collaboration with the Madrid City Council and the Brotherhood of the Descent of the Cross and Tears of Our Lady, of Saragossa.
