Putin rules out the inclusion of pre-emptive strike in Russia's new nuclear doctrine

Hanoi (Vietnam), June 20 (EFE).- Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday ruled out the inclusion of pre-emptive strikes in Russia's new nuclear doctrine by expressing his confidence that Moscow would give a devastating response to those who attack it with strategic weapons.

STATEMENTS IN RUSSIAN FROM PRESIDENT VLADÍMIR PUTIN:

It may not be serious. But we are obliged to pay attention to that. And we do. And this is why my statements about changes in nuclear doctrine come. At the moment, we don't need a preemptive strike, because the enemy will inevitably be destroyed during a response strike."
