Protests against copper mining continue in Panama

Panama City, Aug 28 (EFE).- More than a hundred people took to the streets of Panama City again on Monday to protest against controversial copper mining contract.

The National Assembly of Panama (AN/Parliament) has begun the first of three debates on the approval of the contract law with Minera Panama, a subsidiary of the Canadian First Quantum Minerals (FQM), to exploit the largest open pit copper mine in Central America. (Camera: AND DE LEON).
