Protest in Philippines over a program to modernize public transport vehicles

Manila (Philippines), Apr 15 (EFE/EPA).- Members of at least two public transport unions protested in Manila on Monday against a government program to modernize public transport vehicles that could phase out jeepneys, or local minibuses, and possibly leave drivers and transport workers with low incomes. without a livelihood due to the high cost of transitioning to modern vehicles.
