Pro-Palestinian university protest takes to streets of New York City

New York, May 4 (EFE/EPA) - Thousands of students have protested in New York against the evacuation of a pro-Palestinian protest camp at New York University. The demonstration began outside the university and travelled through the streets of the city.

The protesters are calling for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the "genocide in Gaza" and the Israeli occupation of Palestine.

Protests on school campuses, which continue across the country with pro-Palestinian encampments, are also calling on institutions to divest the money they receive from Israel.
