Pro-Israel counter-protesters gather near Columbia University | Video

New York City, Apr 25 (EFE/EPA).- The arrests of hundreds of students across the United States on Thursday has caused the university pro-Palestinian protests to spread to more campuses throughout the country.

Columbia University in New York, the epicenter of university demonstrations against the Israeli offensive in Gaza, was one of at least 20 campus encampments across the country that continued Thursday.

The morning at Columbia began with the posting of Israeli flags and photos of Hamas’ hostages that pro-Israeli students decided to plant in a sign of the tension increasing on higher education campuses. (Camera: JUSTIN LANE).
