SPAIN EASTER

Last procession of Holy Week in Ferrol is celebrated despite bad weather

Ferrol, Mar 31 (EFE), (Camera: Jorge Piñeiro).- Ferrol has said goodbye to its Holy Week this Sunday with the last procession on its calendar despite the rainfall in the city during part of the events, which have been held for the first time in the Plaza de Armas, in front of the Ferrol municipal palace.

The Easter Sunday event, incorporated into the Passion of Ferrol two decades ago, has been moved from the central Plaza de la Constitución to repeat the confluence of three processions, which have left from the chapel of La Merced, the co-cathedral of San Julián and the sanctuary of Angustias.

The processions of the brotherhoods of La Merced, La Soledad and Las Angustias have completed the Joyful Gathering in front of the town hall, where the participants have removed their hoods to remain with their faces uncovered.
