Prague commemorates 35th anniversary of Velvet Revolution

Prague (Czech Republic), Nov 17 (EFE). – The Czech Republic marks the 35th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution, commemorating the events of November 17, 1989. The repression of a student demonstration on Narodni Street led to the swift collapse of the communist regime, culminating in playwright and human rights activist Václav Havel assuming the presidency.
