TRANSLATION:

1. It is a disease of the heart, not of the wallet.

2.To recover from this illness, the monks proposed a drastic, but nevertheless very effective method: meditation on death. No matter how much a person accumulates possessions in this world, we are absolutely sure of one thing: they will not fit in the coffin".

3.We brothers and sisters, We may be lords of the goods we possess, but often the opposite is true: they are ultimately to possess us. Some rich men are not free, they do not even have time to rest, they have to look over their shoulder because the accumulation of goods also demands their custody; they are always anxious because a patrimony is built up with much sweat, but can disappear in a moment.

4.That is what the miser does not understand. He could have been a cause of blessing for many, but instead, he got himself into the cul-de-sac of unhappiness.
